Angelcare Monitors Inc. Recalls Baby Movement Monitors After Two Deaths

Today the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall to repair Angelcare Monitors Inc. movement and sound baby monitors. CPSC has received reports that the cord strangled at least two infants to death, prompting the recall.
AngelcareMonitorBlog300.jpgThe monitors include a cord that attaches the baby monitor sensor pad, which fits under the crib mattress, to the nursery monitor unit. The cord is a strangulation risk, because the baby can pull the cord into the crib and become wrapped around the baby’s neck.
As a repair, Angelcare is offering free cord covers for Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitors with Sensor pads. The cord covers prevent a child from pulling the cord into the crib.
You can contact Angelcare at (855)355-2643 or www.angelcarebaby.com to get a free cord cover.
