Kraft is voluntarily recalling all Planters Cocktail Peanuts in 12 ounce canisters with the code date of 09-January-14 (wow, peanuts keep a long, long time!). Approximately 3,000 cases of the product were shipped to the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The recall is due to the peanuts being exposed to water that was not intended for use in food during the production process.
There are no reported illnesses from this product yet. It is unclear what illness or symptoms the nuts are expected to cause. However, anyone who has purchased the product should not eat the peanuts and should contact Kraft about the recall.
